Hello, I’m Mossi.
I’m Mossi Kuroda, a still life and product photographer working from a small studio in Lisbon. I photograph objects one at a time, with a single light and a lot of patience.
Most of my work is for brands that make things for the kitchen, the bathroom and the workshop. I also keep a few personal series going, which is where most new ideas start.
A shoot begins with the object on a plain card and ends when the photograph looks the way the object feels to hold.

How I got here
1991
Assistant to two food photographers in Tokyo. Learned to light a single grain of rice.
2004
Staff photographer at a catalogue studio in Paris, around 300 objects a week.
2015
Opened a daylight studio in Lisbon and started taking my own commissions.
2024
First personal series, Silhouettes, shown at a small gallery in Alfama.
2026
Seven series later, still one object at a time.
